LAB DIRECTOR - PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR

Dr. Wagenaar’s research focuses on the mechanisms of data integration and sustainable scientific collaboration through technology. He has worked on multiple platform technologies to support scientific data management, analysis and peer reviewed scientific data distribution at scale.

Dr. Wagenaar leads the development of the Pennsieve data management platform, which is leveraged as the data core for the NIH SPARC initiative and is used broadly by the neuroscience community. Dr. Wagenaar joined the University of Pennsylvania in 2021. In addition to his appointment within the DBEI, he is affiliated with the Center for Neuroengineering and Therapeutics and the Institute for Biomedical Informatics at Penn.

Michael is an experienced technical team lead and a long time developer of scalable, distributed, and big data systems.

Patryk is a staff data scientist in the Wagenaar lab. His research interests include: creating reproducible benchmarks for machine learning methods, developing novel scalable methods for bioinformatics, analyzing Electronic Health Record (EHR) data, and developing infrastructure in AWS for storing big data

John is a programmer who works on the Pennsieve and Discover platforms, primarily on backend infrastructure.

Eric is a web developer who works with the Wagenaar lab to help build and maintain the SPARC Portal web application.

Darrell has worked in a series of fields from energy and healthcare to non profits, focusing on problems solving technical challenges in a variety of environments, technology stacks and tools.

Jacqueline is the Wagenaar lab’s project manager with extensive experience in neuroscience. Her work primarily supports the lab’s efforts in the NIH SPARC program.

REQUIREMENTS ANALYST AND QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST

Yomi works collaboratively with stakeholders to assure project requirements are executed on schedule and facilitates communication between software development teams in academia and industry. She has a masters in Public Health and a background in Microbiology and Quality Management in community programs and healthcare services.
